Tips for Key West

What’s the best way to learn about a 2x4? Take the Conch Tour! (Key West is occasionally referred to as the 2x4 because it is approximately two miles by four miles). The Conch tour train, which has stations at numerous locations, is the best way to see Key West and learn about its history in the process. If you’re going to take the tour, do it early in your vacation – you’ll get a decent glance of the island, passing by many colorful locations that you can note and check out later on. Incredibly well informed conductors, who’ll tell you anything and everything about Key West, guide the tour. They’ll point out locations that most guidebooks won’t, including the hotel room where Hemingway wrote A Farewell to Arms, Solaris Hill (the island’s highest point), and they’ll also tell you the history of Flagler’s railroad. The Conch Tour Train is a fascinating, informative, and enjoyable way to learn the lay of the land.
